Record Ink. is the newest company from Chris Lieck. Chris has been in the business for 29 years and is the founder of Tejas Records. Tejas is a 20 year old established indie label that has produced 21 Grammy Nominations and countless awards. This new label is under the Chris Lieck Ink. company imprint and will be part of www.chrislieckstudios.com as well as www.comia.us.  The purpose behind this imprint label and primary objective is to develop the songs, the voice and the knowledge needed for artist to succeed.   This is modeled after his hugely successful Tejas label as well as his the old Motown of the 1960s.  The major labels or the  stronger indie labels don't have the staff, in-house studios/video, and are not as funded as in the past.  Therefore, the need to develop the songs and vocals are imperative to success.  It is not about how great you sing it's about how unique your voice is amongst the norm as well as how well you song write.   Image has always been a great asset however Chris and the staff feel they have developed and handled so many  image transformations and  promotional campaigns for world--wide companies and their products.

INFO

In this quest to find unique talent the label wants stability over a duration of what they call the "dating" process.  Record Ink. does not find and sign bands or artists.  The company takes a rather longer approach to the process.  This allows the label and artist to see if there is a common ground and that the energy and required work load that Record Ink. demands does not break or crack at the seams.   This label is in control of artist management and publishing so if you are not up for that type of deal, we understand.  You may say that Chris was one of the first to require the two.  In 1992, Chris started Tejas with the same philosophy, if he can't manage and publish then if record sales are slow when building an artist's career, there is no income thus there is no future for both the artist and the company.  This is the only way to insure that bad management and bad songs are not allowed under this imprint label.  Should an artist require a larger company Record Ink. has that covered and welcomes this with wide open arms.  This allows the artist to grow the correct way and under the correct guidance.  Each contract is different and each artist is treated based upon their needs.  Many artist think they are ready and that is major problem in that there is nobody telling them that their songs, vocals and career choices are bad.  That is not a problem at Record Ink.: Just watch the behind the scenes videos.  Record Ink. starts with single deals and that is the "dating" period for the label with the option for full 3 to 5 Cd recording, management and publishing deals.
